About Me

HUSBAND. FATHER. NERD.

I am a hobbyist fine art photographer from Richmond, VA. What that means is that I do not try to make money from my photography. I don't take commissions, I don't submit stock photos, or do paid shoots. My costs far outweigh any prize or recognition I receive. The photographic projects I take on are borne primarily for the aesthetic and/or concept, and not for commercial endeavor. Using the word, "fine" is not to imply a certain quality of work but rather the notion that my photographs are meant to evoke feelings, imagination, and thought in the appreciation of the subject matter.. As such, this is perhaps my only creative outlet and I do this for myself with the help and support of my lovely wife.

To date my photographs have been featured on the covers and within the pages of books, magazines, various publications, and online features from around the world, and have been displayed and sold in galleries and exhibits across the country.

Although I go through periodic shifts in creative paradigm, I hopefully leave my own imprint on the inspiration I draw from many other more talented people. This is simply my creative outlet and I am always experimenting and currently limit my work to select personal projects as I am inspired.

Former websites include www.lostforwordsphotography.com & www.lifeisblackandwhite.com which have all been consolidated to this page under my name.
